Years ago, when each of us received our Yale acceptance letter, we were invited to join a remarkable community. Even though our time on campus is long since over, we are still lucky to call ourselves members of the Class of ‘87– a group of people who have lived remarkable lives in so many different ways. Between us we have raised families, overcome obstacles, fought for causes, lost our way, found new ways, laughed, cried, and cheered. All along the way, we have been lucky enough to share our joys and sorrows, our challenges and triumphs, and even our memories with our friends from Yale.
We are inviting you back to reconnect with long-standing friends (we won’t use “old” friends!) and to dive back into the Yale community, for our 30th Reunion on May 25-28,2017. Our motto is “come as you are” and we really mean it! Throw one of your old Yale t-shirts (we know you still have at least one!) in an overnight bag and make your way to New Haven! We’ve ordered the umbrellas and the pizza so we only need YOU!
What will we be doing? We are planning a relaxing, low-key weekend in line with what we have heard you want! There will be a lounge open 24-7 for conversation, laughter and reminiscing. We will have panels to discuss a wide variety of topics, including hearing from classmates who have reinvented themselves volunteering, teaching yoga, and starting new careers (remember, “50 is the new 30!”). Yale will have lectures and tours. Cocktails, dinners, OUR music -- all on the agenda. Sharing, remembering, looking ahead, figuring things out, solving the problems of the world – those are on the agenda, too. What we really need is YOU! We encourage you to reach out to fellow classmates and ask them to come back and join us.
How do I sign up? That’s easy. Click Register now on the upper left and everything you need is right there. Schedule, sign up, attendance list. If you have questions, please call 203-432-2110.
How much does it cost? All the information is on this website. If you would like to come, but feel that this might be a bit out of reach, not a problem. You can confidentially get assistance. We don’t want this weekend to be about anything other than our community.
Please be sure to join our private Y87 Facebook group and let us know if you would like to get involved, have questions, ideas or just want to reminisce! We would love to hear from you!
We are so excited for the upcoming Reunion, and we hope you are, too. See you in May!
