1978 - 40th Reunion (May 31 - June 3, 2018)

Dear Classmate and Friends,

Since some of us look in the mirror and see a 35-year-old, it may be hard to believe that the Class of 1978’s 40th reunion is just around the corner. Our reunions are always a great time, and an excellent way to make those years melt away. Please join us May 31 – June 3, 2018, at Pierson College.

If you’ve ever attended one of our class reunions, you know how much fun it can be to see old friends, make new ones, learn about the current state of our alma mater, and enjoy Yale’s incredible facilities and resources. If you’ve never attended a class reunion, now’s the time to do it – there are new colleges to see!

At this point, we ask you to do just three things:

(1)   Reserve May 31 – June 3, 2018 on your calendar;

(2)   Let us know you are coming by clicking on the big blue “Preregister Now” button at the bottom of this letter.  And maybe poke a few friends and suggest that they join you, click here to send them a reunion online postcard!

(3)   Fill out a fast (yes, scout’s honor, FAST) survey indicating preferences or suggestions for reunion activities. Click here or go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KSHC39P

We’re hard at work putting together a program that all will enjoy – and leave you plenty of free time to rekindle friendships and meet classmates you barely, if ever, knew at Yale. Your input on the very quick survey will help us put together a schedule that will include something for everyone.  Sadly, no Bladderball or steam tunnels, though….

But there will definitely be great food and drink, dancing to a live band on Saturday evening after the class dinner, and a feeling that the 1970's weren't so long ago after all!

To assist with your travel plans to New Haven you will find useful information (on the tabs to the left) regarding accessibility and accommodations on campus as well as links to local area hotels. As details become available in early 2018, please be sure to revisit the reunion website for updates regarding the Class of 1978 Reunion program highlights, Morning at Yale, Friday lectures, the President’s University update, all-class events, and the wide variety of campus gatherings and cultural house receptions held throughout the weekend. For reunion-specific questions please contact the Reunion information line at (203) 432-2110 (weekdays, 8:30 am – 5 pm EST) or via email at reunions@yale.edu.

So, come back to Yale and re-connect with your class, and urge other classmates to come as well.  We look forward to seeing you in New Haven!

Best Wishes,

The 40th Reunion Committee
