1953 50th Reunion–Tentative Schedule of Events
June 5-8, 2003
Thursday, June 5
1 pm Reunion headquarters at Silliman College open. Campus rooms available.
6:30–9 pm Welcome cocktails and buffet dinner served in the courtyard.
Friday, June 6
7–9 am Full continental breakfast served in the courtyard.
9 am & 10:30 am AYA Faculty Lectures
Several of Yale's charismatic faculty will talk about their current work and teaching.
12:15–1:30 pm Buffet lunch served in the courtyard.
2–3:30 pm Lecture or class panel, to be announced.
4:30–6:30 pm University Welcome Reception
The evening begins for all classes with a University Welcome Reception on Hewitt Quadrangle outside University Commons. Gather with alumni from many generations to enjoy "Wines of Yale," donated vintages produced or distributed by Yale alumni and friends of Yale.
5:30–6:15 pm Class of 1953 Memorial Service, Battell Chapel.
6:30–7:30 pm Cocktails served at the McDougal Graduate Student Center in the Hall of Graduate Studies.
7:30–9 pm Class Dinner in Commons.
9–11 pm Dessert and coffee served in the courtyard.
Saturday, June 7
7–9 am Full Continental breakfast served in the courtyard.
10 am–12:15 pm "A Morning at Yale"
Reunion attendees from all classes will have a choice of hands-on workshops, gallery visits, renovation tours, faculty lectures, special exhibits and seminars.
12:30–3 pm "Southern BBQ" luncheon in the courtyard, with Dixieland band entertainment.
4:30 pm President's University Update
Richard C. Levin '74 Ph.D. offers his review and outlook for Yale
5–6:30 pm A Celebration of Yale Singing
Join singing groups from all classes for a jamboree in Woolsey Hall celebrating Yale's incredible musical tradition. Alumni from the Glee Club, the Whiffenpoofs and Whim 'n Rhythm will perform Yale favorites from many generations, and we'll conclude with a rousing rendition of "Bright College Years."
6:30pm–12 midnight Cocktails and dinner served in the courtyard, followed by dancing.
Sunday, June 1/June 8
7–9 am Light continental breakfast served in the courtyard.
9 am–noon Festive Farewell Brunch for all Classes in University Commons
10 am University Public Worship
