Annual Giving through
the Yale Alumni Fund

Yale graduates contribute almost $25 million per year in annual gifts alone. The University would need an additional $500 million in unrestricted endowment funds to equal this essential support.

What do these gifts support?

Annual giving to Yale through the Alumni Fund's annual appeal provides current and immediately expendable support for the University's basic needs including:

• Financial aid to students
• Teaching and research
• Facilities maintenance

The Tradition Lives On

In fact, the education of all Yale graduates (Yes, that includes you!) has been partially subsidized by the generosity of prior graduates. Today, this giving makes a tremendous impact in helping to defray the cost of a Yale education, which for each student is almost double the price of tuition. Giving to the Alumni Fund is our opportunity to continue this tradition.

How Have We Done So Far?

Final Figures For 2007.

Classmates participating: 530 (76%)
Amount raised: $402,282 (115% of goal)

Only one Yale College Class from 1930 through 2007 had a higher percentage of participation than our 76% figure for the year just ended. Only one class from 1930 through 2002 had a greater absolute number of donors than our 530 (though 49 of those classes had a larger "field" to solicit than ours).
