Devised by Professor Paul Kennedy and Cynthia Farrar, this program explores the rich history of the Mediterranean amid beautiful landscapes and impressive architecture, as you cruise aboard the 100-guest Clelia II. Your faculty leaders have chosen sites that tell the story of conflicts and the role of naval battles from the Peloponnesian War through World War II. The iternary starts in Athens and continues to the Greek islands of Delos, Milos, and Crete. Later, in Egypt, you will immerse yourself in the wonders of Alexandria where you will have the additional choice of visiting El Alamein or Cairo. The journey continues to the beautiful and historically rich destinations of Pylos, Malta and Sicily, finally heading to Lazio and disembarking in Civitavecchia.
