How To Join

The Yale Alumni Chorus Foundation is a dues paying membership Foundation. Dues support the work of the Foundation. In particular, dues collected partially fund the operation of the Foundation New Haven office. Foundation membership is a prerequisite for participation in Chorus tours. In addition, current Foundation Members receive tour and other event announcements well in advance of non-members.

In his 2005 President's Message, Mark Dollhopf put it best when he pointed to the Foundation's nine-year journey: "Members of the Foundation are 'Ambassadors of Song,' not simply because they create good music, though that's a start. And it's not simply great directors, or creative arrangements, or inspirational compositions; nor is it simply good singers or wonderful fellowship. Our lives may be changed through singing, but that is not the standard by which we measure ourselves. We are Ambassadors of Song because we bring our music to others in the hope that their lives might be changed through our gift."

While performance and the sharing of song remains a core mission of the Foundation, we find outreach increasingly fulfilling in our role as Ambassadors of Song. By reaching out to communities not as blessed with choral traditions, we can change lives, and we are doing so!

Membership is not restricted. Singers as well as non-singers are welcome. Affiliation with Yale University is not required.

Dues rates and structures are delineated on the Application. (A link to an application form can be found at the end of this letter.)  Of note, Dues for recent graduates (within four years of graduation) are complimentary as an inducement to younger members.

Application is simple. Fill out the Application Form below and submit it with the appropriate dues fee.
